The 2012 Scottish HR Conference

Liz Jackson

I’m delighted to confirm details of ‘The 2012 Scottish HR Conference’, the CIPD’s annual Scottish conference and the largest annual human resources event in Scotland.

The conference provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable insights from business leaders and academics from leading organisations including RBS, PwC, IBM, Cass Business School and of course, the CIPD. We’re also delighted to have one of the UK’s most pioneering head teachers on the conference programme.

We’re offering three half-day breakout sessions on the first day, enabling delegates to look at ‘HR in the Public Sector’, ‘Organisation Development’ or ‘Managing Redundancy’ in a bit more depth than traditional breakout sessions. Our second day features shorter breakouts on building teams and turning skills into profits.

Once again, the conference features our popular Employment Law Day, with an overview of current and forthcoming employment law and an outline of some recent landmark cases from Toni McAlindin, plus workshops on equality legislation and family-friendly employment policies.

Our two exhibition areas will feature a range of suppliers from a variety of sectors, many of whom are exhibiting at the Scottish Conference for the first time.

Networking is always an important part of the conference and there are plenty of networking opportunities built into the programme around the sessions, the highlight being our gala dinner.

I know that you’ll be pleased to hear that we have gone to great lengths to keep our package and day delegate rates the same as 2011, and once again we are offering a two-day ‘shared rate’, which allows two people from the same organisation to attend on different days. We’re also offering an early bird discount for anyone booking before the 30 December [now extended until 20th January 2012], so it’s a great incentive to book early and have something to really look forward to in your 2012 diaries.

I do hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be another excellent conference.
